Rivendell Breaks






Pickering is on the edge of the North York Moors, half way between York and Whitby. It has good A road links from Scarborough, Whitby, York, Middlesbrough.

To find your way to Rivendell:

1)from York direction; take the A64 to Malton, by-passing it & taking the A169 for Pickering
2)at the (only) roundabout in Pickering turn left
3)at the (only) traffic lights turn right
4)pass the NYMR steam station and trout farm - a minute or so later, the road narrows(sign), cross the road bridge
5)turn immediately left after bridge & cross over the railway line - open and close gates, beware of trains! (if you get to white gates of level crossing, you have gone too far)
6)continue straight ahead past a row of cottages on your left (PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY) 7)at the end,turn right up the Rivendell drive. Straight ahead for the Stables & the car-parking area / continue right up the drive for the Signal Box, Corner and our cottage. the Cabin is further on up into 'the Dell'.


From Helmsley direction(Middlesbrough,North East etc) : turn left at lights in Pickering(3) and follow above directions from (4)
